happy summer!

I've been working with the brilliant Norman Klein, culture critic and media historian, for the past couple of weeks, and it's been a great learning experience. I'm making 12 illustrations for his new book Imaginary 20th century, it's a pretty interesting read and comes with an astonishing archive of photographs and illustrations from the time period put together by Margo Bistis. we are doing something new with the way the book and the archive are presented, I'll follow up on that later. if you are still reading, this is the image for the first chapter, set in1893's Chicago world's fair, hopefully my illustration makes you interested in the book and the archive, you can check them out here.

GORGEOUSNESS! I'm really liking this! So detailed and cool. What an awesome project to get to work on...did Margo Bistis teach Modernism at school? Looking forward to seeing the other 11.

P.S. How was Vegas? And, when are we doing poker?
